Thanks Jack! It was just an awkward encounter. The owner came over with his wife and saw me taking pictures of his car. They stayed silent, and to break the ice, I said, 'Nice car. Looks cool.' To which the owner responded with a brief 'yes.' He didn’t even seem interested in having a short conversation like I usually do with other owners. After that, I didn’t say anything else.
