Everybody who has been to Florence recognizes this place. The Piazzale Michelangelo is a scenic lookout where you find a replica of the David, made by Michelangelo Buonarroti. The David is a masterpiece and one of the most famous sculptures ever made. This replica here was currently under renovation unfortunately. I had seen the original earlier that day in the Galleria dell'Accademia.
